#iFixit’s
For Bay Area Maker Faire this year, I made keychain PCBs for folks to solder using iFixit's Power Series portable soldering stations. Thanks to @OshPark for the purple PCBs, and @iFixit for the soldering irons. I have a few kits left to share. Catch me at the next event. #ifixit #oshpark #makerfaire

I'm all for criticism if it's fair, but this isn't. This is iFixit grumbling because the company doesn't like the controller because it's difficult to repair. That's iFixit's problem, and doesn't at all make the controller "piss poor".

Shitty D-pads make controllers piss poor. Or quick breakage.

iFixit’s M4 MacBook Pro teardown shows not much has changed.
Apart from “subtle differences” like a slightly bigger heatsink and rearranged components, the newest MacBook’s internal layout is about the same as the M3 model’s. iFixit summarizes in a blog post su...

Yes! One of my sticks started going insane a few months back. Replacing it was incredibly easy using ifixit's guide and tools. I think it was something like $30 and it only took me maybe 20 minutes going slowly.
I had never done anything similar before that, either.

I'm in the market for a portable soldering iron and most of iFixit's tools are very good quality so I looked at theirs. And this is the biggest dealbreaker I've ever seen. I'm not going to download your app just to change the iron's temperature. Are you kidding me?

The Japanese and Chinese teardowns of Pro Controller 2 that I saw didn’t deem it hard to repair. Was iFixit’s exceedingly negative review due to skill issue, or deliberate rage-baiting? Let’s check the receipts: 1/

A toolkit, a new battery, a part they desperately need, or fixing up something they love is more thoughtful than anything destined for the clutter drawer. Repair is sustainable, personal, and way more fun than a last-minute impulse buy. Check out our holiday sale now!
