Have you read The Greenglass House? It's a more recent YA book that is different in every detail but captured a similar feeling for me.

The kid and I are listening to The Green Glass house and we're obsesssssssed. We will also probably start the 2nd Mysterious Benedict Society book as a family during Snowpocalypse 2026.

I recently finished listening to the 2nd book in the “Greenglass House” series, and I have to say I really love these books.

You follow Milo as he tries to solve capers in his parents’ smuggler-attracting hotel with his RPG-loving friend Meddy.
