I often think about this. "If you see tech bros doing stuff that is making most people's lives worse in the name of some distant goal, be skeptical. If you see political revolutionaries breaking eggs to make an omelet, be very skeptical of whether it will be poisonous." x.com/glenweyl/sta...

Capitalism and socialism, two failed 19th C. theories. We need to be thoughtful about next steps, people like #GlenWeyl moving in that direction. But we need creative discussion, cap vs soc a road to nowhere.

An implementation of @glenweyl and @VitalikButerin's Radical Liberalism already went live by @WeTrustPlatform: in order to get money to a goal, you also need to donate to it yourself, and then the fund will match in proportion to the amount of other...

A concern w. Quadratic Voting: makes economic inequality -> political inequality.

What about a QV system w/ a separate currency usable only for buying & selling votes? Allows me to sell my vote for X (don't care much) to buy votes for Y (care a lot). @glenweyl @itaisher

How do you get users to accept Harberger taxes in your network?

You bake it in at the protocol layer. Users have a choice to voluntarily opt in to a more fairly designed system, which will unlock more value for all participants.

I am very excited about this new combination of @glenweyl and @VitalikButerin (and @zhitzig which I didn't know) that are trying to bring together more math and rationality into the political organization field, which desperately lacks it.

If data is labor, imagine a jobs guarantee scheme that uses a massive pool of unemployed workers nationwide to digitize tons of data, and helps advance machine learning and AI. Like MTurk but for the public sector. @snaidunl @glenweyl

Big question: what extent feds want to step in to equalize local regulators -- including private #sharingeconomy ones, @glenweyl

Hmm...@glenweyl suggests #sharingeconomy services like Uber serve less as competition to taxis/more as an alternative form of regulation.
