Apparently if you write a glassdoor review for a company you aren't allowed to update it for a year. A lot of reviews with interesting updates exactly one year later.

Keith encountered one of these and I told him I was pretty sure it was illegal and why. He did some deeper research on the company and realized that all their 5* glassdoor reviews were because they require new employees to write a review as part of onboarding.

1/3 According to Glassdoor, online applications still account for a significant portion of job offers, but their influence is waning. Instead, referrals and proactive recruitment are gaining traction.

That's the thing that got me "wrongfully terminated". It was the part when my 'friend' got promoted above me & my superior abilities embarrassed her & my refusal to do even more of everyone else's work to make her "look good", pissed her off.

I should have a Pullitzer for my Glassdoor review. 😏

I've attempted to post a review on Indeed since getting fired, but it keeps getting removed. Yet Glassdoor accepted the thing without any hesitation. While me leaving a poor review for the company might be a little petty, it is frustrating because they absolutely hire through Indeed.

Eeeek. I've just looked the new company up on Glassdoor. Their UK employees are absolutely miserably unhappy. Mind you my mate who works there was looking to retire next year and if they do quarterly "flash" redundancies like they say they do, then happy days, she's off.

I finally got a response back in my job hunt and when I went to check their ratings on Glassdoor they had a 2.4 rating with review titles like "Systematic wage theft and false bankruptcy threats" and "avoid at all costs"

...so that's promising!

Absolutely mental subject line, but on the other hand this is the first time I’ve opened an email from Glassdoor in …maybe ever? So good job I guess.

Was very tempted to hit the “read more” but I resisted.

Adventures in job hunting ...

LinkedIn: Here are 40 biologist jobs. Are they all AI scams? Probably, but your skills match is 97%!
Indeed: You do "bioinformatics"? How about software development, can you do that?
Glassdoor: Would you like to be a financial analyst in Moose Jaw?
