In the fun "trust the process" stage of painting, and just realised - I have NEVER actually fully done an animal in my style before. Figroll will be the first and so far, they aren't looking to pleased about it.

Good morning! My back is fucked so I will be slowly perambulating to the allotment to sit amongst the chickens and draw.

Thanks hun, I'm taking a day to chill now that the remains are sorted, and the results are with APHA. Disinfected the coop for the girls. Feeling a bit sad, but my rescue boy was a good un. We have his child, Figroll, here and some more eggs he'd fertilised in the incubator.

Okay, bad news: Mr. Biscuits' lungs are full of fluid. I have cleared them out and started treating him for bacterial and viral diseases, but there's a good chance we will lose him and the flock. 😭
Figroll is fine as they've kept apart, the incubator is full of eggs - we'll restart if need be.

Just took Figroll to go see the other chickens (they are still terrified of Figroll, who is 9 days old AND A CHICK) and got stopped by 2 old ladies who cooed over them, and a very drunk man, who cooed MORE.
