Gov. Ron DeSantis raised concern about Brightline deaths in 2019, calling on FDOT to look into the issue. But when asked recently about the state’s effort to reduce rail fatalities, a spokeswoman said only:

“Our advice is to get off the tracks when the train is coming through.”

Right yes okay now is the time in the Lair when we watch #PLUR1BUS and my beloved Fdot is pestering me asking me why I'm harsh-whispering into my ’phone and hey leave me alone I'm documenting and oh hokey-smokes it's a CADDYSHACK reference!

State of Florida doesn't directly run a train service as far as I know. Brightline is private, as are the freight carriers, and the regional ones aren't run by FDOT.
And yes, trains schedules aren't super important to folks.

Now is the time in the Lair when all must hush so my beloved Fdot can enrapture himself in the Army-Navy Game. I myself have no personal allegiance either way, but my hubby is a proud veteran of the Navy's Black Ops Cryptid Squad, so I annually join him in trying to hate Army so hard that they lose.

We didn’t see him speaking with us at the Fort Lauderdale commission’s emergency hearing to sue FDOT and fight back against DeSantis.

Oh, my somehow beloved Fdot has the Georgia-Alabama game on (Roll Tide!). That explains the marching band nightmare I jolted awake from.

FDOT has lied brazenly about any service that helps people in cities and SunRunner in particular was an incredible success as anyone who ever used it could tell you
WOW: It appears that the Florida Department of Transportation and state Republicans used a flawed study to illegally dismantle dedicated bus lanes along a federally funded BRT project that was completed on time and under budget

FDOT study used to scrap SunRunner lane ‘incomplete,’ ‘unfair’, experts say
The dedicated bus lane on Pasadena Avenue was removed after the state said there was a rise in crashes.

1) This is somewhat misleading. They have reallocated trainsets to the more lucrative regional service within South Florida.

2) They are doing well operationally *except for the bond repayment*, similar to projections for FDOT HSR

3) Amtrak would inherit a host railroad relationship with the FECR
