Congrats to @theatlantic.com EIC @jeffreygoldberg.bsky.social on being honored with the John Chancellor Award for Excellence in Journalism. Well deserved!

I’m still EIC for a few more weeks as I transition out and wrap up some big projects. A small team of Teen Vogue editors remains and deserve support, too.

Much more to come, but thank you all for supporting us on this incredible journey. Teen Vogue forever. ✊🏾❤️

As EIC of Deadspin, @greenwell.bsky.social learned that Jacuzzi is a trademarked brand + she could laugh to the point of tears in a Times Square cubicle farm

Most importantly, she learned that private equity had gotten into the media industry to eat it alive

Anyway if you told me in 2020 when the CEO of Chalkbeat called to ask if it was a good idea to start a voting publication that 5 years later @levinecarrie.bsky.social would be its EIC and @baseballot.bsky.social would me its managing editor, i would have maybe slapped you. HERE WE ARE.

Keep in mind the Vanity Fair article that well predated Epstein's arrest concluded he was likely a pimp doing blackmail and even that they suspected minors were involved, and it got squashed before publication by the EIC and they took all those parts out, even though cleared legally.

Judy remains an ever valuable part of our editors team and indeed our editor training programme.

He doesn’t have social media, as far as I know, but INSIDER’s EIC, Chris Cooper, is the one who answered my cold email during the pandemic and truly changed my life.

One of the best editors I’ve ever had.

Also, I should clarify, I used to be EiC of a motorcycle publication, so I had access to people like this. Nowadays, my contacts have gone fallow.

Dan is a 4000% better Ball Knower than me so this opinion re: Ace Bailey carries a lot of weight to me.

Also, follow Dan, Spanish language color commentator for the Utah Jazz and EIC of Salt City Hoops.
That's the one thing from the pod where I disagreed with you to some degree. Outcomes aren't hitting for him right now, but I see 6, 7, 8 things every night that show me he thinks the game at a pretty high level and will be fine when he adjusts to NBA speed and strength.

So when did Dave Portnoy take over the EIC job at Vulture?

tbh I think that first one should primarily be thought of as nyt eic & co sucks ass and not metoo excess In the culture

they will always find their aziz case whether high profile or made high profile

I also dont know that anti police sentiment and blm wrt 2020 was a failure. at least not pre 2025

Yesterday (or day before) Jewish Insider's editor in-chief repeatedly accosted Hashmi to answer questions about how she specifically would address antisemitism in Virginia, and then the EIC threw a fit because Hashmi walked away without answering his hostile questions. Glad that he can cry tonight.
Virginia has elected Ghazala Hashmi as the state’s next lieutenant governor, making her the first Muslim woman ever elected to statewide office in the United States. 19thnews.org/2025/11/virg...

Thrilled to see PLOS Medicine (@plos.org) now REQUIRES the TARGET checklist to be completed for submitted target trial emulations. doi.org/10.1371/journal.pmed.1004796

Transparent reporting shouldn't be optional, if you edit at a journal, please encourage your EiC or publishers to follow suit.

idk if that's actually true, is the problem. i don't know a single person who wasn't skeptical before metoo who was skeptical after, or a single person who was careful before who got less careful during it, i think the only opinions change were like NYT EIC views and attitudes
November 6, 2025 at 7:45 PM
I once worked at a paper where the new EIC only wanted big-name “rock star” hires that she could make a big deal about in press releases. Meanwhile, two of the twentysomething staffers who left during her early reign went on to win Pulitzers at their next jobs.
