Hah, now I am envisioning a hyper-local travel criteria, of the nature nerd variety...

I love parks! 3 park passes, you? If you haven't visited at least 40 EBRPD parks, don't even waste my time. 🤣

Yeah, so this was a total rabbit hole & really hard to find information on! The question of who is responsible for the land management apparently was in dispute, and EBRPD said it's the Port.

And it looks like conditions there got ++ bad:

But if no one can get it or transport it, if you're at an Ebrpd park, and there are no employees around this is their police dispatch number. And they may be able to send someone out to try to rescue it 5108811833

It was a good park day, visited 4 all in all. Radke Martinez Regional Shoreline was 1000 shades of grey. Thought I'd gotten lucky with the weather, but got drenched at the end. 🌧️

I saw so many bikes on the #SFBayTrail! Folks were biking to the Richmond fireworks.
🚲 Kids on their own bikes,
🚲 kids on longtails,
🚲 kids in backfiet-style cargo bike buckets (what are those called?).

🎶 And then this bike party came rolling through.

Everyone on bikes looked so happy! 🎉

Spent most of yesterday at #EBRPD Coyote Hills Regional Park. Their Juneteenth ranger program focused on Outdoor Afro’s recommended theme of “Freedom to Access Water”; they had participants read biographical cards about some current Black environmental scientists & community activists in the US.

Did a quick birding stop at McNabney Marsh in Waterbird Regional Preserve, also in Martinez.

The land was set aside in part using restoration funds after a 1988 oil spill inundated wetlands here & nearby.

Very excited for the new @EBRPD trails & group camp projects, to connect the new McCosker parcel to Huckleberry & Sibley. Very much not excited about the 54 car parking lot spaces being added, just off narrow Pinehurst Rd.

Thank you to the @EBRPD board for your unanimous support of e-bike access expansions today. Class 2 e-bikes (throttle or pedal assist) will be allowed on all paved trails, and Class 1 (pedal assist) e-bikes on all paved or unpaved trails where bikes are already permitted.
