The fact that the FBI had to issue a bulletin calling on ICE to identify themselves shows why we need laws like SB 627 to protect the public and promote transparency and accountability.

As Trump mimics Marie Antoinette hosting luxury dinners, he can't stand the fact that the courts are stopping him from starving tens of millions of Americans. Trump's cruelty knows no bounds. California will make sure that CalFresh recipients get their benefits in full.

The shutdown is not stopping Congress from threatening states' rights while harming public safety. H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Mandate, would let people from other states ignore state laws and carry guns without a permit. I call on Congress to oppose this dangerous legislation.

Dozens of East Bay residents, including my office, volunteered at the @accfb.bsky.social today. I am inspired to see so many people step up and give their time to support those in need. This is what community looks like.

Californians have sent a clear message with the passage of Prop 50 – when democracy is under attack we will stand up and fight back. I am grateful to Californians who have used their voice and vote to object to Trump’s attempts to rig elections.
Tuesday capped off a whirlwind, hyper-partisan two-and-a-half-month campaign for one of the most expensive ballot measures in state history. Here are four things to know about how Prop. 50 will affect California, Newsom and Trump. bit.ly/4oRV8M2

Millions of Californians are at risk of going hungry as CalFresh and other federal benefits are delayed. But we don’t wait — we act.

Step up and support your neighbors: volunteer, donate, or spread the word. Together, we can help those in need.

Healthcare facilities must be safe spaces that respect the privacy of patients. Thank you @agrobbonta.oag.ca.gov for informing healthcare providers of their responsibilities under SB 81, helping people receive medical care without fear.
We’re releasing new guidance to CA healthcare providers to ensure compliance with #SB81, a new law by Senator Jesse Arreguin to enhance privacy protections for immigrant patients and ensure that they can receive healthcare they need without fear.

While I am glad that President Trump called off the surge in federal immigration enforcement in our region, we must remain vigilant. Our immigrant neighbors, which are the backbone of our economy, are living in fear.

Nurses have an obligation to protect patients and know that patients are put at risk when ICE disrupts medical facilities. Thank you for recognizing SB 81, which expands patient privacy and creates nonpublic areas not accessible without a valid warrant.
Opinion | When ICE comes to a California hospital, nurses and doctors must protect their patients
Federal and state laws impose duties on California's health professionals to protect and advocate for patients regardless of immigration status.
