weird question, but does anyone know of any good tarot deck in specifically a chinese (but NOT ORIENTALIST) style, something along the lines of traditional gongbi art, or the kinds of diagrams you see in feng shui, wuxing, i ching, that sort of thing?

oh i was just trying to pump up kit's achievements

yeah i don't think good writing relies on this, while arguably good diagrams do

but it depends on the purpose of the written work, of course

reminds me of the recommendations to not use image-generation ai for diagrams, as the point of diagrams is for compressing understanding

ppl should stop using ai-generated diagrams. you know i’m not anti-ai but they’re just not good at this yet!

the problem is that diagrams have a very specific purpose: they’re meant to compress understanding into few key bits. ai vomits out poor approximations that aren’t conceptually compressed

this is why you use SVG, mermaid graph syntax, etc - what are they doing over there, don't use nanobanana for this kinda thing

Thinking of making an owner's/operating manual for it with diagrams showing the different inflation nozzles and how they work, the inflation process in action, &c.

Perfect bad guy for a maze game where pooltoy furries have to escape/avoid it. (Oh no, I keep losing on purpose! 😍)

The art book was such a let down. I was hoping for concept art and new artwork and, like characters that haven’t been drawn before or depictions of the sects, but instead we got a collage of pre-existing art and poorly made diagrams. It looks so rushed.

Diagrams that show space junk have issue with showing scale. The same problem means people think asteroid belts are densely packed when in fact asteroids are typically hundreds of thousands of miles apart.

Honestly, thirty years involved in various communities that overlap like Venn diagrams, and I can tell you with certainty: Any stereotype you've heard about historical wargamers being needlessly picky little fusspots is utterly overshadowed by how bad Warhammer gonks are for it.
I've come to the conclusion that painting Space Marines is a fucking mug's game, because for a bunch of made-up space men that aren't real, there are some incredibly anal retentive willies out there about the Correct Colours.

Napoleonic fans aren't a patch on 40k dinks, I swear.
