Yup, we didn’t become the multi-racial, multi-ethnic cosmopolis we are until the 1960’s. That being said, I honestly think that makes us better now than in the past, we’re an ever-changing city.

These two Cronenberg movies feel kinda topical? The majority of Cosmopolis takes place in a limo while people riot in the streets directly outside, and Christopher Walker’s character in The Dead Zone spends part of the movie trying to kill off a Trump-like narcissist who wants to become president

The first and only time I read Cosmopolis, I thought it was flimsy and unconvincing. I suspect that if I reread it now it'd seem worryingly prescient.
