Also, ultimately, the panic wasn't the root cause of the Cloudflare outage. I'd hate to see Rust over-rotate on one incident.
You can make an argument that unwrap should have a better name, but imho, the churn is not worth it.

So if I’m understanding correctly, yesterday’s cloudflare outage was caused by the use of an unwrap() function which is meant to be used as a placeholder for error handling and basically just shuts the whole thing down if an error occurs
