Went for a walk on Winter Hill today and was treated to a cloudbow.
A story in my latest book covers the Winter Hill Mass Trespass of 1896. This view would have been illicit back then due to Colonel Richard Ainsworth barring access to the moor. 1/6

A....cloudbow I guess?? It was more apparent with my polarized sunglasses, but you can faintly see red/orange in the middle and green at the bottom

I missed the glory at the left of the image. In any case, I think it is worth drawing attention to the cloudbow. In my experience, cloudbow are rarer than glorys

I just looked it up and is also know as a fogbow, ghostbow, or cloudbow. Never seen such a thing! Thanks for sharing.

My first fogbow! AKA a cloudbow, it's like a rainbow but paler, like a ghost of a rainbow.
It's a sky phenomenon that needs particular conditions to be seen - sun behind the viewer who is above the cloud - which came together for me on a whale watch boat in a thick marine layer.
