Hear me out when I say the last truly brilliant tech product was the stand-alone iPod. It was a beautiful, intuitive design. You could use it offline. It wasn’t a creepy cloud surveillance device integrated with everything else. Essentially it was a Walkman except loads better.
To be blunt, Steve Jobs was a pretty awful person but he deeply understood two significant things that none of the current tech companies do:
• People genuinely like nice things that are easy to use.
• People like those things even better if they're aesthetically pleasing.

And once there was integrated cloud storage, there was the opportunity to provide additional functionality like versioning, web-based editing and collaboration, sharing, and online publishing.

So far so awesome. Integrated trivially into homeassistant, installation was a snap. Honeywell clearly learned from Nest in terms of making it easy to install and mount, but the local UI is so much better -- and it's not cloud connected. Awesome to see progress in an area that was so stagnant.

We're in a rise of single tenant clouds. If its one vertically integrated client, it's less cloud, and more of a specialized datacenter.

* Cloud storage associated with passkey-based identity (easy to create multiple anonymous storages).
* Integrated with the browser for convenient configuration, local API, and familiar/trustworthy UI.

Procreate can directly export to PSD with layers and everything. Then just use e.g. Dropbox or Box or Google Drive to cloud transfer it, they’re all integrated pretty well. I believe you can use a cable too but it’s more work.
