I thought an Adafruit CircuitPlayground Express might be the way to go as it offers both light and sound support. But, I coded a demo program using MakeCode this morning, but the code did not run smoothly.

I'm going back to my original idea of a NeoPixel Ring and an RP2040 PropMaker.

Any concerns with CircuitPlayground Bluefruit installs? I’ve got all their Bootloaders updated. And thanks to the entire team for this work! I have a full class starting next Wednesday and you are the magicians enabling the hacking. May any 2025 bugs be infrequent and rapidly squashed. Cheers!

I specifically avoid the circuitplayground cp libraries in my class because I want students to write code that works cross platform or can be easily adapted from board to board. We start with the CircuitPlayground Bluefruit but switch to the pico mid semester. bit.ly/circuitpython-school

Thx much. One or two weeks will be great. That'll be before we cover things that the CPB has that CPX doesn't. Have enough CPX on-hand 'til then. Keep making the awesome! And would love to see an updated CircuitPlayground board sometime. Those are such great "Intro to CircuitPython" boards. Hack on!

No. I hand each student a feature packed, Ritz-cracker sized board so they can do a ton of “get started” things in that one piece of HW. Neopixel lights, touch, sound detection, buttons, accelerometer, HID, etc. So a non-CircuitPlayground (CP) doesn’t fit with the need.

I'll use this amp, which has a JST plug & I can swap alligator cables for the CircuitPlayground portion of the courses with pin JST for the Raspberry Pi pico lessons. www.adafruit.com/product/5647 Total price is cheaper than the hamburgers & one less USB device to power & I can send through a DAC.
