The spark took its time. Perched on the tongue of the divine, it couldn’t reach a sound, couldn’t teach profound insight until in light. Until understood. What good can come from aphotic thought, when so tempted by what ignorance wrought? A circle that traces its ends again rather than growing and finding a bend in personality’s core. What is all life looking for? A rapture of strepitious crump? And thump of hearts that only pump life in circles well contained by all the body chose to frame? Or a chance to combine the mind with what life pines for? What, removed, we all adore. The morals are clear: why you are here, why you need silence to think but not act. Do not blink on the pact and think the rapture will clear it. Find the light and choose to hear it. We’re all here for each other’s sake. When we lose the spark, its all hearts that break.

Life branches to possibilities, a thousand different paths to me but not one of them mine. It's for understanding I pine. While minds find me and demand with glee the endless possibilities I can't see. Tell me, is it me? I resist the urge to heave and hurl and insist to let the words unfurl in puddles of letters on the ground. Tell me, can you hear that sound? It's all the letters shoved into one. Now the verse is saying I'm done. But I'm saying I'm here. I'm saying it very clear. It's the trunk that I hold most dear. It's her choice that I want to hear. And her roots that will hold me near. This week was #RemembranceDay. Today is the anniversary of my Great Uncle's death in the early morning of November 13th on a battlefield on the Somme. He died along with another 240 men of the Shropshire Light Infantry. I wrote this for him so I don't forget #poems #poetry #blueskypoems #ww1

Emotional affairs hurt worse than physical ones. Sex is one thing: raw, fleeting, even meaningless, but when you have sex with another persons mind, when your soul leans into theirs, it leaves you wrecked in a way language struggles to describe. I don't think even the best of cryptic metaphors could do it justice, but I'll say this: Being naked with another is fun, but to be spiritually naked? That's vulnerability on another plane. One with a power that changes you. It morphs you into something feral you didn't recognize until you'd already jumped off the cliff, not thinking, just trusting that the fall is well worth the fear. That kind of closeness rewires you. You hand over parts of yourself that you didn't know were up for grabs, and when its reciprocated, it feels like your atoms are exploding at the seams, but you don't care because in the eye of the supernova, they're standing there with you. Then the dust settles, and there are no hands left to collect your ash.
