Chapter 7 The Saturday came; Bill had texted his mother and she had confirmed that she and grandpa were ready. Mom had spent the past week reading all she could of the Edroth, so she was excited about the trip, demonstrating her fidelity in him. Bill heard rapping on his door, opening it to find Antin stood there with a huge grin, “have you inspirations of becoming the city bard? With those melodious drumbeats?” He laughed. Antin blushed, “no, I… I just wanted to ask if you were ready” “I’m ready. Do you know where to go?” “Without Nyx scrying, which he does with ferocity every day, I can take you to where we met last, is that ok?” “The school? Sure!” Bill didn’t mind walking with Antin the scant mile to his mom's house. Antin took his hand and led him to the center of the atrium. “Well then, let’s go!” Bill could see him fill with Light, his arms guiding the flow into a portal, a window through space. They stepped through and Bill found himself in familiar surroundings. The walls were covered by bleeding ivy – it was definitely fall now! The school seemed to have upped its defense strategy; new fences were up all around the school. But they easily found a gate to get thorough A newspaper flew through the air and landed square on Bills face. He held it out and scanned the page. “Criminal pardoned by president. I see nothing changes for the rich.” “Yeah,” Antin said, eyes darkening. “I grew up poor, in group homes until the day I met Nyx. There was never much to go around, yet we all had to play nice and proper when the donations from the rich were coming in.” “I’m sorry you experienced that,” Bill added, taking Antin into his arms for a hug. “I didn’t have much after my dad passed away, but we somehow survived. Thanks to Zhe’ra I suspect.” “Having such a woman as your ancestors must’ e had some perks!” Bill laughed. “She was just a kindly neighbor to me, I didn’t learn who she was until I came to Al’Edos, after our encounter.” #VSSFantasy Fideli…
