erected in my honor:
sitting between two chairs,
bc the fence is uncomfortable,
reading Tranströmer,
not exactly clean shaven,

& squirrels at my feet.

Like Elvis, #raccoons aka trash pandas are everywhere. I’ve lived in quite a few cities & the only one where I never saw them was the Bronx. No doubt they were there. Where there are dumpsters, you’ll find raccoons. Humans have too much trash for there to be no raccoons.

The #nest was empty when we found it in the backyard. We searched for possible occupants that might have been thrown out of it, but no luck. Hopefully they were in good #health & had been able to fledge before the nest fell. We’ll never know, but we’ll watch for them.

"I must be on the crests of giant waves, the way my little home sways. I'll be drowned and I cannot even swim."
The corn bird's straw nest is 4 feet long and hangs from highest tree limbs. Flying is a more apt skill.
