Personal growth does not pay dividends in shallow, performance-based economies.
That means choosing to not only separate yourself from safe spaces but actively choosing to align with people and spaces where friction and unpredictability are inevitable.

I expected understanding—
what was wrong with me
to be a big, hard pill
to swallow,
with an antidote
that would somehow
fix me.

A not insignificant part of me wishes I'd never even learned what it was like to have someone attune to me.
