#backpay
What leverage do republicans have? Give me something. "Dems back down..." is behaviour, not leverage.

Some things republicans had as leverage: SNAP funding, RIFs, terminating backpay, but they gave all those up.

So please tell me what leverage republicans have.

Exactly
He gave you $10k
in backpay owed labor trafficking wages
He wants to give them $2k of their own tax money.

Yes, the deal included backpay and new provisions to explicitly prohibit what trump was threatening. And it reversed his RIFs and prohibited them in future shutdowns.

And yes, if Dems get control of Congress in the midterms they need to rescind that theft.

My husband received his direct deposit for full backpay yesterday. We were astonished.

Every detail was negotiated. Backpay was not guaranteed for Frderal employees, whether they were furloughed, working or deployed.

You are aware active-duty military were not getting paid during the shutdown...?

really nothing I can do atp but wait. If I get a job it'll probably ruin my chances of getting disability anyways (thus ruining the backpay) so I have to weigh the pros and cons... It kind of sucks that the options are so limited. Thank you for streaming tonight though,

I appreciate it Eudiel, thank you... The law firm is very persistent in the fact they're handling it. I just need to let it go through the process. There are things like backpay so I really just need to have faith that they'll take care of it. It's just hard when it's out of my control and there's -

there’s an outfit i’ve been thinking about the whole furlough…. but they’re not in a rush to get me my backpay

That's your human labor trafficking backpay sweetheart.
Don't view it as a personal award.
They just want to get used to you giving the product before pay like the sh*tty non-fathers ask for a kid before marriage to "mAkE suRe It WoRks". That's spray + pray. Don't normalize unstable 3rd world crap
Like that's not $10,000 because it's you, that's your human labor trafficking backpay sweetie
That's labor trafficking
That's trafficking
That's what that is
These people should not be anywhere near anti-trafficking
Same w/ traffickers in the intelligence community, the place meant to remove this.
The government shutdown ended Wednesday after 43 days, the longest in history.

Trump claims that the "Democratic shutdown" cost the US $1.5 million. We all know it was a Republican shutdown, but $1.5 trillion?

Is that the backpay for furloughed workers that we would have paid anyway? What money is this, exactly?
TRUMP IS SPIRALING

Trump once again calls Epstein's child sex trafficking ring the "Jeffrey Epstein Hoax" and tells Republicans to focus on other things instead.

Trump raped children.

Agencies in the Department of Commerce are said to expect backpay for feds on Weds. This applies to employees on furlough who both “worked” and “not worked”, which is now how furlough is coded in T&A.

don't underestimate the narcissism in the room
he wrote you a $10,000 check! (no. it was backpay for your slave labor, and one day he won't write that check you've come to expect while you'll still be knee deep in slave labor)

No quick payday for IRS employees: agency officials say backpay will start Nov. 24, with full catch-up by Dec. 8. Union criticizes the IRS for falling behind the timeline the Trump administration announced Thursday. Sr. Correspondent Erich Wagner has the story: buff.ly/T6s0vAf

They got SNAP fully funded for a year so Trump can’t use it as a weapon again. They got fired & furloughed federal workers rehired with backpay & a guaranteed vote on healthcare enhanced subsidies forcing every Republican to go on record with their vote.
They brought healthcare to the forefront.

As the previous piece notes the deal did also guarantee backpay to federal staff (which Trump had been trying to avoid paying) & undoes 4,000 layoffs initiated during shutdown and paused by courts. (16/46)

buff.ly/LapXhMJ A lot of bad, with some good. Healthcare premium credits set to expire end of 2025, bringing cost despair. Food safety rules are being cut too (buff.ly/nPfQ8EG). But also, SNAP is funded to 2026, and backpay for gov workers.

Oregonians deserve a better deal than what's been given.
The government shutdown is over, but not everything is back to normal
President Trump signed a bill reopening the government Wednesday night, but it will take more than a day for some things to return to business as usual. We're tracking those here.
