Yellow Browed Warbler. Seen only fleetingly before. The bird the size roughly of a Gold Crest has come all the way from Siberia. Can you imagine that tiny thing fighting all those elements? Isn’t nature just incredible 😍 #shetland #birdingscotland #birding #yellowbrowedwarbler

Our first #YellowbrowedWarbler of the autumn was caught&ringed under licence this morning. Only our fourth ever September record but our second earliest … hopefully more to come #birdringing

Always a joy to hear and see the first #YellowbrowedWarbler of the autumn and this morning’s bird was in the heligoland @hilbrebirdobs.bsky.social our joint second earliest ever. Autumn has properly arrived this week 🍂💥 also at least 20 Chiffchaff on the island today and a smart male Stonechat too 😍

5 new species for the site were Nightjar, YellowWagtail, YellowBrowedWarbler , CettisWarbler & RingOuzel.
Some species numbers were up dramatically from previous totals, others were noticeably down. #birdringing

Yellow-browed Warbler. Thanks to @hobhole.bsky.social I managed to see this one, after failing the day before. Beautiful bird with a lovely song. Interesting research going on with these birds, doing what is thought to be a ‘reverse migration’. #yellowbrowedwarbler #freiston

Our earliest ever #YellowbrowedWarbler by six days appeared in the Obs garden @hilbrebirdobs.bsky.social briefly this morning. Later being found in sycamores up the island before finding its way into the “Heli” where it was caught for ringing #UKBirding
