Coastguards rescue six people “in Cornwall” cut off by tide.

There are many sound reasons why Cornwall should be disaggregated from BBC News coverage of ‘the south west’ - high amongst them is a woeful ignorance of the area - Woolacombe is in Devon.

Walking the dog at #sunset on #Woolacombe beach at low tide. Some of the finest sunsets I've seen have been while on this long stretch of golden sand.

Thank you. The channel makes a great leading line. The light is always special at Woolacombe. I must post some sunsets from there, as they are some of the most spectacular I've seen.

Looks beautiful. I used to spend a lot of time on Putsborough (and Woolacombe and Saunton) about 20 years ago (living in Plymouth and surfing). Good to see such beautiful pics...

Nice article about the charm of North Devon UK by #EmmaCook, and one of the last you'll see from the old #Observer newspaper before... who knows what?

‘An epic expanse of golden sand’: the sweeping appeal of North Devon
It’s long been a magnet for surfers, but will this coast’s relaxed vibe and huge beaches persuade a lifelong Cornwall lover to switch allegiance?

Just got home from a week in Devon. Enjoyed Woolacombe Dunes parkrun on Saturday. It’s known as a tough one but don’t be put off, it’s also beautiful!

PSA: the Cornish coast would fix you. You need to be walking in golden tidepools at sunset, you need to try surfing in some little town called Woolacombe and stumble into old stone castles left and right. Eat crumbly fudge and scones with tea and look at sheep
