Had a chance to visit my beloved San Francisco in 2009, staying at a friend's studio on Russian Hill. I walked all over town every day, hitting all my old haunts. Searched for calamari on a lunch menu in North Beach, found one with one outdoor table. Mine! #AlphabetChallenge #WeekCforCommunications

Alexander Graham Bell making the first call on the instrument that would eventually be called a telephone. He is sitting at a desk, surrounded by curious men. On March 10, 1876, Bell used "the instrument" in Boston to call Thomas Watson who was in another room but out of earshot.
