Shocked to be in my 84th year. Lifelong blue voter, though I don't post or comment about politics, just cats, nature, photos, gardens, food. Buddhist, lapsed meditator, but still trying (often failing) to live the teachings of the Dhamma. Go Ducks!

I see a lot of new followers recently, mostly politically-oriented. Am I on a starter list for blue voters? If you are wondering why I haven't followed you back, I do not post about politics and will not follow people who do. I prefer not to be on any starter lists. It's not personal.
I have a ton of these -- 2023 was my flower close-up phase. All taken out in our resident garden box area where I have my garden. #AlphabetChallenge #WeekCforCloseup

Frosty and foggy walk this morning, making for a different experience. Temp hovering around 30f. Only one other lone person out there.

Mood. Spencer agrees. Happy #Caturday

I’m innocent! Just looking! In other words he got caught, though to be fair he wasn’t doing much more than looking. Yet.

Walked out about 12:30. Still cold (under 40f) and wet, but less foggy today. A different kind of mood than yesterday.

Anybody ever used one of these? I need something for keeping frost off winter greens. Used Frostgard in the past, but the last two years local rodents have been shredding the fabric, for bedding, I assume. I need something else. #TheOutpost www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...

Somebody's feeling his mischief this morning, although after glaring at me for awhile he decided that sleep was a better option. Happy Thursday!

Our mild winter has taken a cold and foggy turn, but it's not ice or snow, so I'll take it. I almost forgot my walk today, left near 1:30pm and this is what I found. Fog was much denser earlier, and colder.

There are whiskers there somewhere. #WhiskersWednesday

Late morning walk. Brisk, but sunny. Spotted this egret fishing near a footbridge. It caught something small while I watched.

You all know I don't post political stuff, but this Greenland/Denmark thing is absurd. Malcolm Nance knows his stuff. This is chilling to read. From twitter.

Spencer had rolled onto his back in his basket, so I tossed a pipe cleaner coil into his lap. Four stages of dismantling it! Blurry stages 'cause his basket is kinda in the dark.

Slightly different view, this time from the sidewalk. I foolishly went out without adequate clothing for the cold temp, and wind, so I just hustled along the sidewalk to make short work of the exercise time.

Trouble ahead! Spotted sprouts from seeds I planted 3 days ago that were supposed to take 8-9 days to germinate. I hadn't prepared for the lights yet but had to make haste. Troublemaker waiting for his turn when I'm not around. Kale and lettuce sprouts. #Garden

Sleepy Sunday. So peaceful in my lap.

It was a chilly morning at the ponds, but the birds didn't seem to mind. Lots of them! The requisite sunrise photo, some coots, some fine crested ducks, and some geese.

Another #Caturday, another silly Spencer video to make us smile for a moment. He’s the best laundry helper!

This looks outer-spacy, but it's just 4 little seed sprouting boxes with a vent/light at the top. My foray into getting an early start for my winter/spring garden. No lights yet -- won't need them until seeds sprout. Kale, spinach, peas and lettuce. #Garden

Early morning irritation at the phone, which wasn't at all close to him. Keeping an eye on it just in case. After all, you never know when the dastardly thing will attack!

Still playing on the grass theme from yesterday -- shot at the same place/time. Grasses, sunlight and dew. #AlphabetChallenge #WeekAforAbstract

Grasses, dew, and morning sunlight. From 2024. I don't think it was ever posted. #AlphabetChallenge #WeekAforAbstract

Part of the new toy I got today, and a good illustration of the inherent problems it's going to cause with Spencer. Fortunately I don't need the lights until I get sprouts, and I'll find some cat-friendly way to make them less appealing. I hope. These two are spinach, and there are 3 more.

I have lots of 'pattern' photos, and I guess they work as abstract. This was on the beach at Port Orford, OR at low tide. Probably posted previously. #AlphabetChallenge #WeekAforAbstract

A quiet and peaceful photo from this morning’s walk to end the day. Good night!
