IMPORTANT: The spending of Utah State University’s president will now be subject to four reviews a year to check all purchases for “prudence and integrity."

This comes after @sltrib tracked more than $660,000 in spending by the previous president.

The only articles in the SLTrib that anybody outside of Utah wants to read, and they’re paywalled. Of course.

SLTrib is a little behind on their reporting. homeland security and Border Patrol did the arrest on behalf of ICE.

For such a trash racist misogynist scene, Barstool & Portnoy sure has been getting a lot of gossip real estate in the SLTrib lately. This is a tiny bit interesting though. BYU loves them so much they offered to pay for their show as long as there were no swears

BYU offered to pay for Barstool Sports’ broadcast in Provo — but only if the cast agreed to one condition
BYU had one stipulation for Dave Portnoy and Barstool Sports to broadcast from Provo. This is why the show isn’t coming to town.

Did the SLTRIB get permission from MAHA & the Fuhrer to report this public health information? These cases don’t count if the public is kept unaware of them.

@SLtrib reports that outside spending is expected to surge if a swing district emerges as a result of new congressional maps. If only the U.S. Supreme Court would actually allow reasonable limits on campaign financing...

iirc the Utah gov. Cox said the shooter's partner is/was (unsure of how to refer to their relationship tense) a trans woman who didn't know about her partner's plans and was cooperating with law enforcement per SLTrib. not sure I trust Cox of all people to be completely accurate wrt labels so idk 🤷‍♀️

Cox prayed that it was someone who didn't look like lily white Utah so Republicans could justify their calls for bloody vengance against an invading "other."

And it was racist as hell that he said and felt that.

Report *that* SLTrib.

Best description of Kirk on the net today.

SLTrib : “charlie kirk was a white supremacist cosplaying as an intellectual. “

For @sltrib, I looked at the upward trend in political violence in 2025 in the wake of the Charlie Kirk shooting.

How much has it increased in 2025 in the U.S.? How much has it increased in Utah? And how concerned should we be about that?

Update on #utah's court case against the #utgop's gerrymandering.

@sltrib had an article today announcing the judgement will be released Monday, August 25.

So 🤞🙏 that the court decides the people get to pick their representatives instead of the reverse. I'd especially love if they're forced to […]

Maybe your best ever, a gut wrenching truth. This 6+ decade SLTrib reader has loved your recents, owns a few of your books, and giggles uncontrollably as you poke at Utah pols and theocracy. Enjoy whatever your future holds, you've more than earned it.

Actually, the SLTrib is also LD$ owned. They do have more editorial freedom but good luck finding the story from before the purchase that detailed the pioneer handcart suffering where people died because the church was too cheap to pay for axle grease.
