Schubert's string quintet? I can never see plots in music, almost never. But I love this, just float along on it, have all the feelings it wants me to have. Rosenkavalier, still noise. Interesting how the brain gets trained by listening & then just figures it out. Could we sell that, you think?

Ich versuche, das durchzustehen (im wahrsten Sinne). Sonst geh ich einfach früher raus wie beim Rosenkavalier. Da ging bei uns mehrmals die Tür bereits im ersten Aufzug. Und wenn sie die Stimme jetzt nicht gefunden haben dann ist es eh zu spät.

Ich versuche, das durchzustehen (im wahrsten Sinne). Sonst geh ich einfach früher raus wie beim Rosenkavalier. Da ging bei uns mehrmals die Tür bereits im ersten Aufzug. Und wenn sie die Stimme jetzt nicht gefunden haben dann ist es eh zu spät.

I very much need a tune of some sort (or at least pleasant noise that doesn't threaten me), though I add that my idea of what a tune is has evolved over time. I recall initially thinking of Der Rosenkavalier as noise; now I listen to it for fun.

Ich erinnere hier immer wieder an die tollen "Hosenrollen" in Opern, wo die Darstellerinnen zwischen Geschlechtern hin- und herwandern.

Octavian is the title character, and he has way more music than the Marschallin, but she is the beating heart of "Der Rosenkavalier" and she should get the last bow. I will die on this hill.
