Scottie, wearing a purple cap, glasses, a green and black jacket, blue jeans, and black boots. He has binoculars around his neck. He is on a gravel path surrounded by a bunch of curious Mallard ducks and two sandhill cranes.The cranes are about half of Scottie's height... very big birds. One of them is eating out of Scottie's hand which is making Scottie smile so big. He looks extremely happy.

Sandhill Cranes at Reifel are very used to people. This one let me get quite close as it quietly got on with a bit of preening. I love the sinuous composition of its neck and beak -- July 22, 2022
