Happy to share our latest publication showing that higher neutrophils and monocytes, but not other leukocytes, were linked to lower heart rate variability — a sign of reduced flexibility in how the heart responds to daily demands.

📘 New #publication! The research team of Prof. Christian Kurts at the #IMMEI recently published an article titled "Low-dose glucocorticoids attenuate cresentic glomerulonephritis by inhibiting the local differentiation of proinflammatory neutrophils" in Science Translational Medicine.
Less can be more: Low-dose steroids could effectively treat severe kidney inflammation
Study by researchers in Bonn and Hamburg shows that lower doses of cortisone may be sufficient for aggressive kidney inflammation.

A fascinating study reports that neutrophils and NETs actively induce tumor necrosis. Congratulations, BDP @megeblad.bsky.social and @adrover.bsky.social on your latest publication in @nature.com.

Congratulations to Jonah Stephan, Dr. Marcin Wysoczynski, and the rest of the team for this new publication. This work shows that emergency granulopoiesis programs neutrophils to have greater immunomodulatory function, impacting macrophage responses in local tissue inflammation #cardiosky

The second shot is the same argument. But, not even from a scientific publication. Again, a non-scientist incorrectly interpretes information. This deals with genetic issues. These are not present as a result of SC2 infection. Again, the paper only applies to LC children.

We are excited about this @jclinical-invest.bsky.social publication because it is the first mechanistic explanation for the increased risk of pneumonia in CHIP. Generally CHIP is thought to affect macrophage function, but it clearly affects neutrophil gene expression & function as well. 7/n
