all of their albums are incredible. when people say Third is their best work, I don't fault them, because it's doing some extremely cool shit so far removed from their previous stuff
most of the PNYC versions are my favorite versions of Dummy & Self-Titled stuff

Beth Gibbons voice is killer always.
I still think Portishead's best album is the PNYC live in New York. Every track hits. To me, they show too much restraint in the studio. She does that a bit with her solo stuff too, but it tends to work better.

Beth Gibbons voice is killer always.
