I love Warhammer. I love painting and assembling models. And recently I got lucky! A friend gave me a Kill Tean Octarius kit to assemble and paint. I didn't think to take a photo of the finished product, but I did copy some bits!

for those at home it was Raveners v Ratlings on the CYRAC Octarius 3, mission was Compile Intel. I recognize a few mistakes i made, and had some bad luck. I do want to stress that I was just out played and its not the team being broken, but it was a match up I just personally struggle with.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is "Never get involved in a land war in #Octarius." But only slightly less well known is this: "Never betray #TheRout when honor is on the line."

And yeah, the classic "relic armor" excuse lets you basically always include 30k in 40k

Day 3 of summer vacations: played a WH40k Combat Patrol game against @renatavs.bsky.social

Her Necrons faced off against the Ottah Boyz, getting rid of my Deff Dread early on. However, a battle round 2 WAAAAGH gave me a sizeable point lead, after which she conceded
Initial setup: the Orks deployed on the left hand side of the photo, with a Deff Dread and a squad of 10 Boyz. Most of the Ork force started in reserves: another 10 Boyz, three Deffkoptas, and a Warboss in Mega Armour. On the right hand side, the Necrons deployed 10 Warriors (5 reapers and 5 flayers), a Canoptek Doomstalker, an Overlord with tachyon arrow, three Skorpekh Destroyers and three Canoptek Scarab Swarms. The game is played on a table with some MDF ruins and barricades from Kill Zone Octarius. All objectives are located in No Man's Land End of Battle Round 1. The Necrons advanced and killed the Deff Dread, while securing the two objectives closer to their deployment zone. The Orks have lost one Boy and the Deff Dread, to one lost warrior on the Necron side. However, the Orks Tellyported the Warboss and the other Boyz squad into the battlefield. Battle Round 2, end of the Orks turn. Having declared WAAAAGH, the Tellyported Boyz krumped the Necron Warriors, while the other squad managed to nuisance charge the Doomstalker. Orks control 3 objectives, and are leading by 13-0 at this point. Battle Round 2, end of Necron turn. The Skorpekh Destroyers charged the Boyz who were facing the Canoptek Doomstalker, killing most but not all of them. However, two of the Destroyers were lost to the other squad of Boyz on a Heroic Intervention. Meanwhile, the Scarab Swarms rush to capture a neglected objective that the Boyz had secured before. At this point, the score is 13-5. The Necrons player conceded at the beginning of Battle Round 3, as the Orks benefited from mission rules and secondary objectives to score another 23 points.

Started painting up an Octarius terrain setup tonight. Been wanting to paint this terrain since I started playing Kill Team. I got all the metallic underpinning done today, and I am EXCITED to get into details on this set

A few other pieces I have to do this same process on, but this was a lot!
