Like one of the coolest things netherrealms games ever did was create melty blood's moon phase system and change how characters looked and equppied based on which phase they select but of course it was too cool and good for mortal kombat so we got "customizable movesets" next game instead of this

Over 35 years working on #MortalKombat and things like it is absolutely wild. Dan Forden's career at NetherRealms was pretty much as long as my actual life.
It was fun going from the Netherrealms last month to the glories of Orasan this month! Would I could visit to behold the colorful moons lighting the Cathedral of Night... And um also get nibbled by the lovely courtesans 😊

I think the reason Mortal Kombat is my favorite fighting series is that it's always had a sort of American Superhero universe style to it's characters and storytelling. Even before NetherRealms was cooperate cousins, with DC comics, that was the case.

This is all cool (love that gods are semi-on demand beings?!) & I admit I immediately got distracted by the half-plant people 😍🌿💚 will we get to see any of them? (Maybe Ashk'ril just got hyped about plants and it kinda turned into an invasion! These things happen! Do the Netherrealms have plants??)

I thought that last movie was extremely mediocre. I was also more of a dork about the classic games back then (I dont give a shit about anything netherrealms done outside mk9) so I was mad they wasted Reptile cause I liked reptile a lot

I'll say this, DC comics has a not entirely untoxic relationship with NetherRealms and Mortal Kombat. Like we are on our 3rd successive Crisis style reboot of the MK timeline, and I've been following DC long enough to know that's just sort of how DC handles a slump in sales.
