😄 a mesocycle is an 4-12 week workout program with a particular focus. You gradually ramp up the weights and then deload/rest for a week. Then repeat or do something else.

What is the ideal mesocycle length? I generally see it referred to as between three and six weeks. I tend to start feeling “beat up” around week three, week four can start to feel like a slog, then week five can be like a death march.

i'm feeling kind of sad because i'm not really making much progress with my squats. my trainer says i've gained a lot of strength everywhere else, but my squats are about where they were in peak week last mesocycle. it's still some progress, but i guess not much comparatively.
