Listening to the Regional Mexican station, a song about being undocumented comes on, and the polka/klezmer cadence got me wondering what resistance music was in WW2 Europe.

One is tempted to think of West African music as a monolith, certainly as a steamroller of musical culture. But of course that's not how it works. It's an amazingly iterative process. I mean, don't try to tell me Klezmer didn't have a huge influence on jazz.
And Scots/Irish folk music affected rock.

The thing is, microtonal music has always been around and is much more "mainstream" than one might realise; guitar string-bending, violins with no frets, and eastern music (Arabic/Turkish, Japanese, Klezmer, etc) all have aspects of microtonal structures and they sound really good even to 12TET ears

Eu não sou dos bloquinhos muito muvucados, o Klezmer justamente tem a vibe oposta, sabe? Um clima bem de comunidade, um cuidando do outro, muito gostoso mesmo.
No fim acabei voltando pra casa um pouco antes de acabar porque já tava ficando com dor nas costas.

Hoje também foi o bloquinho klezmer do Bom Retiro, em São Paulo. Fiquei muito triste em não poder ir, não tinha nenhuma companhia e tenho medo de ir em eventos com muitas pessoas sozinha. Mas foi muito lindo, vocês deviam ver ano que vem
