11/2020 In November, I returned to Kibitsu Shrine in Okayama to see the fall leaves. The colors were quite nice this year, one of the nicest I saw while in Okayama.

We had new year's visit to Kibitsu Jinja Shrine and Kibitsuhiko Jinja Shrine in Okayama Prefecture.

They made infrequent appearances on the battlefield and eventually became more popular as offerings to temples and shrines like the biggest odachi of them all: the Norimitsu Odachi, which measures 377cm/12.3f in length. You can find it today at the Kibitsu Shrine in Okayama.

The 15th century 'Norimitsu Odachi', Japan’s longest sword measured 377 cm and weighed 14.5 kg. It was forged by Osafune Norimitsu in 1447, during the Muromachi period, and is now on display at the Kibitsu Shrine in the Okayama Prefecture.
