oh, so we think Max is gonzo with this?

is bundling with Disney/Hulu then probably not something that will last?

In acquiring WB - Discovery, Netflix is doing what Disney did before it when it acquired Fox, Lucas, Marvel, etc. Most likely, it will follow the Disney+ model and bring HBOMax into the fold like Disney has with Hulu, ESPN, etc

Movie theaters are BIG LOSERS, but consumers less so.

Same. My credit card gives me a good deal on Disney/Hulu and Hulu has a lot of shows to work through so I have kept that on but otherwise turn them on and off
December 5, 2025 at 7:38 PM
The consolidation's happening much slower than I predicted, but it's happening.

Zaslav clearly hates the business he's in so I'm not surprised Warner is being consumed rather than being a consumer.

Netflix/Warner, Disney/Hulu, Amazon/MGM, Apple/???, and one more major, probably, will be the […]

"The least worse deal"

Spot-on 🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯
It's not Paramount/Skydance, the WORST choice. If Netflix can do this without kissing the 🍑, even less worse. If they end up acquiescing to Mango Mussolini, I will cancel my subscription & delete my account, just as I did Paramount, Disney, & Hulu.

🙄 "Stream these 15 at home for free with Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max, Paramount+ and Amazon Prime Video" --- Friendly reminder, all of those services cost real money... so "stream for free" seems a stretch......
December 5, 2025 at 6:59 PM
Need a deeper dive. Paramount/CBS along with Disney/Hulu/ABC/ESPN. Just seems to me that streaming services are reverting to the big 3 network conglomerates prior to cable. Feels like a consolidation to three or four major subscription based services that own sports/news/movie studio divisions.

🥀: where is it streaming on because i only have disney an hulu netflix... for stuff

and i happen not to watch anime alot because it has weird plots and chaotic storylines ... besides vampire knight an naturo

They did. And I'm guessing Hulu has maybe a couple years of life left, tops. You can see your Hulu content in Disney+ right now and I think the only reason Hulu still hangs around is its live tv subscription component. If it was just the content, it'd be gone already and rolled into Disney+.

HBO Max OTOH could get some old stuff back, as a "dumping ground" for older stuff Netflix won't touch, but still want under their roof; same goes for the classic live-action movies. (That and HBO's prestige = a reason to keep it around as a separate sister service, a la Hulu pre-Disney+-merging.)

interesting! If it’s still leveraging the buyout off the value of the company bought they’ll be pulling some sort of chicanery but I think they’re sincere about wanting to keep hbo/WB functioning as sources of content. would also finally give them a bundle package like Hulu and Disney+
December 5, 2025 at 6:26 PM
You are absolutely tripping on acid if you think I’m going to pay $32 a month to watch shows from hbo max, Hulu, and Disney. In this economy?! That’s $400 a year. #disneyplus

I was just thinking about this. It really does keep getting passed around lately 💀 i wonder if they will do what Disney did with buying Hulu with gradual integration and offer standalone plans. Maybe Netflix will do same and add the HBO titles into their library but not remove the platform just yet
December 5, 2025 at 6:22 PM
No. I basically never watched anything on there so gave it up a few years back. Had a joint Hulu/Disney for a while, but cancelled for the Kimmel thing. Now just YouTube for free and Prime.
December 5, 2025 at 6:16 PM
Isn’t HBO going to stay its own brand? Idk if it will remain a separate app though, or if it’ll become a Hulu-Disney situation.

It just seems like they’re hedging the losses that have come from the shift of traditional cable networks towards streaming. Scary either way

The year is 2027. Netflix/Warner Bros streaming now costs $85/month. Paramount/SkyDance is $75/month.
AppleTV/NBC is $80/month. Disney/Hulu is $80/month.

FOR THR BASIC LEVEL WITH ADS.

"You must be pretty confident"

One-Punch Man Season 3, Ep. 8 is now streaming on Hulu (U.S.) & Disney+ (CAN)
December 5, 2025 at 6:00 PM
Actively boycotting Prime and Paramount+. I do use Netflix and Hulu. I threatened Disney+ I'd cancel if they didn't bring back Kimmel, and they did bring him back, so for now I still have Disney + to watch with my nephew.
December 5, 2025 at 5:59 PM
In their effort to get me to sign back up, Hulu and Disney+ know exactly the kind of content I crave.
December 5, 2025 at 5:59 PM
Not me, I’m built different.

I’m a Prime/Disney+Hulu/AppleTV house for catalogue/cloud deal reasons.
December 5, 2025 at 5:58 PM
turned off Netflix last year cause we just weren't using it much and had subs to Disney+Hulu, Prime, and AppleTV (which is also too many need to cut one of those as well).
