I'd add in the proposed East West rail junction at Hauxton so people can see how that links to Cambridge South, the need for 4 tracks into Cambridge and then the long term plan for the trains to go onto Ipswich and Norwich.

So Haslingfield or Harlton? I used to jog along the path over the fields from Hauxton a few times a week. Been gone nearly four years.

We used to live round the corner in Hauxton - miss Barkers the butcher more than anything else about the UK 😁

A rare but rather fine wall painting of Thomas a #Becket from #Hauxton in #Cambridgeshire. Probably mid 13th century it is a rare example of Thomas shown as archbishop but not in the course of being martyred.

The East West Rail nimbys in my village do my head in. It's going to follow the existing rails into Cambridge through Shelford dammit. You might have to take a whole 2 extra minutes to get to Hauxton. Get over it.

Glad to hear recent announcement for (partial) electrification. Thanks for listening to those concerned with green credentials of a scheme planned as diesel only. Still note no in-person consultation for Harston, Hauxton & Newton - villages affected by line, but no benefits of stops.

I need to cycle to Trumpington tomorrow (north) and but I could come back via Hauxton and Little Shelford (West and South-West) on my way to meet friends for coffee. Which makes it then tempting to also do a loop through Stapleford :)

I know Great Shelford very well! Grew up in Harston, had a lot of friends in Hauxton and used to love cycling to Scotsdales in Great Shelford to look at the pets! Whereabouts are the allotments?

GCP is focusing on a single benefit (intercepting more cars beyond Hauxton Road) and ignoring severe negative side-effects. This is both irrational and actively harmful to the public interest.
November 25, 2024 at 4:27 PM
Hauxton/Harston Park & Ride: "The monetised benefits are *minus* £23 million. That’s right, the benefits are *negative*."

If the GCP board don't reject this, what are they for?

Here's @EdwardALeigh as mentioned by @Sam_in_Cam on @BBCCambs this...
