Wild teasel (Caprifolaceae: Dipsacus fullonum) is native to Eurasia but has been introduced throughout much of the world. It can be invasive and weedy, especially in disturbed areas. Seeds, however, can be an important winter food source for birds. Side Cut Metropark near Maumee Ohio, 27 Jun 2012.

Callitula pyrrhogaster does seem to be in just about every tussocky piece of grassland you take a vacuum sampler to, which poses the question, given that they can't fly and the hosts don't fly in the parasitoid stage, how *do* they get about?

Woodruff, Galium odoratum. Patch forming. Unbranched, 4-angled stems. 6-8 leaves per whorl with 25-60 forward pointing prickles per side. Stems erect, ending in a flat-topped leaf whorl. Leaves have hay or vanilla scent when crushed.

John Pankhurst, Bishop of Norwich died.
He became Bishop or Norwich in 1560 after he returned to England following Queen Mary I’s reign.
He was buried in the nave of Norwich Cathedral.
