The work also includes a revised subgeneric classification of #Triepeolus and its sister genus, #Epeolus Latreille.

My amazing daughter did it again 👍❤️🙏 Another bee species identified. That’s ELEVEN species !!! in our little 1/3 acre rewilding garden 🎉🤔 I must admit to never thinking cellophane and a bee to be connected?!

Algunos años las he visto en Cazorla ya funcionando a finales de Agosto. En realidad, en cuanto veas machos de Epeolus fallax (su parásita) puedes esperar ver los primeros de C. hederae

Thank you! First Epeolus I'd ever seen. I think I lay watching it for an hour.... or until it flew off 😄🐝🌼

A wander to Stone Point, Walton on the Naze this morning to see the Sea Aster bees, Colletes halophilus, numbers in the very high 100's. Also seen 2 Black-thighed Epeolus, Epeolus variegatus, a cleptoparasitic bee of the Sea Aster bee.

Nice find while out for a walk locally - Black-thighed Epeolus (Epeolus variegatus), a cuckoo of Colletes bees. #bees #hymenoptera #KentNature

In mainland Britain the heather-foraging mining bee Colletes succinctus has an associated cuckoo bee Epeolus cruciger, but that doesnt occur on Scilly. On Scilly the satellite fly Miltogramma punctatum occupies that niche & is often seen watching for opportunities at host nest sites

I have always wanted to see a sleeping or resting bee 😴. It happened last year; this red-thighed epeolus (Epeolus cruciger) landed next to me in the middle of the day, clamped down on a scabious flower and went to rest for a few minutes

The blue vervain is bringing in all sorts of unusual guests, like this uncommon two-banded cellophane cuckoo bee, Epeolus bifasciatus.

Two new bees for the garden today - Black-thighed Epeolus (Epeolus variegatus) and Pantaloon Bee (Dasypoda hirtipes). Our Common Fleabane patch is excelling itself!

It's from the Epeolus family, a parasitic bee, possibly of leaf cutter bees.

Another in the kleptoparasitic Nomadinae -- a male #native Autumnal Cellophane-cuckoo #Bee (Epeolus autumnalis) feeding on New England Aster. As the common name suggests, these fly only in September here in #YorkRegion 🇨🇦 #backyard #garden #biodiversity

Next up in the #native Nomadinae -- a male Notch-backed Cellophane Cuckoo #Bee (Epeolus scutellaris) on Rudbeckia hirta. Like others in the same group, these are #kleptoparasites, but specialize on cellophane bees (Colletes spp.). #backyard #garden #biodiversity #YorkRegion 🇨🇦

I'm always amazed and excited to find sleeping #bees like this #Epeolus cf. variegatus that is a brood parasite of several #Colletes species. It feeds ondifferent species of #Asteraceae such as Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare).

New records of predation by Vespa velutina on wild pollinators in Asturias. We have observed Vespa velutina preying not only on honeybees but also on other species, including Colletes hederae, Epeolus fallax and Vespula vulgaris.

Hard to believe we have bees like this in the UK, right?
Epeolus sp. I found in amongst an aggregation of Ivy bees this September. Species very likely to be Epeolus variegatus but no voucher taken to be 100%
