As someone who has played D&D since 2e, the switch to Paizo’s Pathfinder system was pretty painless.
Then again, the groups I’ve been in also played the old West End Games d6 Star Wars, FASA’s Shadowrun and Earthdawn, GURPS, and World of Darkness. All games that don’t use Wizards’ d20 system.

I did have a hand-drawn map sketch. I dug it up recently because one of the astral quest adventures in my current Shadowrun game took place in Daralon. I added the sketch to the adventure and the Kaer Daralon article on my site. Hope it helps and good luck with your Earthdawn game!

And in Shadowrun the more cybernetics you put into yourself, the more you lose of your magic. This is the same universe as Earthdawn where everyone had to learn a form of art, so they can prove by performing the art that they are real people and not demons. Because demons can't do art.

The Earthdawn/Shadowrun ties are much more explicit and deep. The only Exalted one I can remember is something from Sidereal that suggests the WoD was one of the potential futures they stopped happening but I'm not a grand Exalted lore nerd.

Earthdawn did this with the Invae, which were patterned off Bug Spirits in Shadowrun. The horror was knowing that a bug spirit had killed a person to make each Invae. Earthdawn already did fantasy-horror, the Invae were just another flavor of horror.
