As a disabled grad student trying to see a future in academia, I would love some advice on how to navigate the job market! #disabledacademic
Does anyone know of any post-docs in Comm/Media, American Studies, Critical Race Studies, STS etc that can accommodate for working remotely?

I'm using the free Visible pacing app to manage #CFS like symptoms (primary & secondary #fatigue for #neuroinflammatory #disability). First time i've scored lowest value for stability. Prob should take the day off sick, but got 3 meetings today 😭🤷‍♀️ #ChronicIllness #DisabledInSTEM #DisabledAcademic

The #trauma of #AccessToWork #DWP #ATW. Started my in-work support renewal in June 24, old award ran out Aug 24. Employer must front costs and claim back once sorted. Had to contest ATW decision once already. Maybe I will get approval for support by end of year 🤷‍♀️♿. #Disability #UK #DisabledAcademic

I'm looking to do more for #disability in #academia. If you want a speaker for an event etc. in this theme, please contact me. I'd even enjoy just talking informally w/academics about lived experiences as disabled persons. #DisabledAcademic #AcademicChatter #DisabledInSTEM

The Mind Hears has another great profile out of a deaf/hard of hearing academic! So much to learn about life and work from these. You will laugh at how Tim "discovered" he had hearing loss. #DisabledAcademic #deafFaculty
A new The Mind Hears profile is out! Meet Dr. Tim Anderson from Portland State University and learn about his twisty travails as engineering faculty and chair with hearing loss. In the process you may discover if he talked to a robot. Or was it his wife? themindhears.org/2025/06/26/p...

My first phone call . . . was clearly a prank. It sounded like someone was using a bad 1970s era robotic voice like a Speak ‘n Spell toy . . . Moving it to my right ear revealed it was my wife. Left-R...

Would love to connect with more disabled and/or chronically ill academics on here (and disabled peeps generally). Any tips for how to best do that? Not sure I’ve got the hang of bsky hashtags yet… #disability #MECFS #disabledscholars #disabledacademic #spooniechat #spoonie
