I personally had a good time watching the Marvels, especially for the camaraderie between Brie Larson, Iman Vellani, and Teyonah Parris.
If I had any criticisms, it would be that Dar-Benn could have been a little stronger, but still not a bad film. The post credit scene took me by surprise as well.

I expected nothing* from The Marvels and I had a great time. Dar-Benn was as meh as I expected but who cares when Kamala is there, being cute and amazing.

@pieterjketelaar.bsky.social Just watched The Marvels. I like the movie, but it feels like Ant-Man 2 where it is a lot smaller in scope. Dar-Benn is not fully developed as a villain. She isn't very powerful but the Marvels still had trouble defeating her multiple times in the movie.

I think it would have been interesting if the movie took a very vague cue from the comics and made Dar-Benn one of two rulers of the Kree empire and show how that is a highly unusual and controversial state for that people. It would have given some context to the conflict i think.

Given that Captain Marvel went through the same training as Dar-Benn before she got her powers, it should have been a cake walk. But I guess the power entanglement made it difficult, although they showed a whimsical training montage implying that they should be effective as a team.

I enjoyed a lot of The Marvels too. Unfortunately you can’t tell much about the character because Dar-Benn was woefully underdeveloped in the film. It’s a shame. Not the actress’ fault of course.
