Back on Bluesky!

@pieterjketelaar.bsky.social Just watched Deadpool & Wolverine. Really liked all the cameos (opening weekend so I won't mention them here) that I wasn't aware of. Love the incredible fight sequence in the Honda Odyssey. Nice continuation of Loki S2 and a great send off for Hugh Jackman.

@pieterjketelaar.bsky.social The Acolyte season finale. Wow! Epic duel between Sol and Qimir. Qimir better at dispensing with multiple Jedis but not very powerful in 1-on-1. Maybe he knew Osha will kill Sol that is why he helped her find Mae? Sad that Venestra has to blame it all on Sol. Yoda in S2?

@pieterjketelaar.bsky.social The Acolyte's penultimate episode. Kids should never play with fire. Torbin killing himself makes little sense after this episode. Indara was the one that killed most of the witches. Not a great episode, but at least I got my Wookie light-saber fight.

@pieterjketelaar.bsky.social Episode 6 of the Acolyte was a real slow burn. Just when I thought it ended, they show you one more scene where Osha puts on the helmet and really let you feel more what she feels. I'm guessing she will kill Sol by Episode 8 and fully joins the dark side.

@pieterjketelaar.bsky.social Episode 5 of The Acolyte stays true to the High Republic books in that every Jedi is basically a red shirt (mixing Star Trek w/ Star Wars); Sol might not survive the series. Qimir is too powerful, more powerful than Vader? (he fought/killed more Jedis simultaneously).

@pieterjketelaar.bsky.social Just watched Ep4 of The Acolyte. Sad that we don't get any Wookie lightsaber action, but that Sith lord (or maybe a splinter order jedi master using the dark side?) is at Palpatine level of power with his force push. Can't wait to see more next week!
June 21, 2024 at 12:19 AM
@pieterjketelaar.bsky.social Ep3 of the Acolyte is really story heavy. I feel like it is setting up a Rashomon kind of flashback story telling from the other Jedis and maybe even from Mae on what actually happened that fateful day.

@pieterjketelaar.bsky.social Just watched the 2 episodes premiere of The Acolyte. Love it! No more continuation of the Skywalker saga and Jedis are the focus (unlike Mando and Andor). They also have this nice film grain kind of look that none of the other Star Wars TV show has. Plus wookie Jedi!

@pieterjketelaar.bsky.social I watched the series finale of Star Trek Discovery yesterday. I was shocked by the run time (86 min). I like the first 60, but felt the last 20+ minutes was bolted on to give the show a proper send-off and it didn't really work for me.
May 31, 2024 at 8:06 PM
@pieterjketelaar.bsky.social #StarTrek #Discovery 508 was pretty good. Love the library where they filmed it from. Can't say you recognized it as a Toronto area like many of the previous episodes. Looking forward to the last 2 episodes of the series.

@pieterjketelaar.bsky.social just caught up on Star Trek:Discovery 507. Not the best episode. I know it is absolutely needed to set up the race between Federation and the Breen for the Progenitors tech, but it felt really slow. Nice that it gave some backstory for Rayner and why he hates the Breen.

So when are they going to let ChatGPT full on retain everything you said to it and we will have people that will want to marry it like in the movie Her? They will absolutely need to pay for Scarlett Johansson's voice, though. www.imdb.com/title/tt1798...

Just your standard typo, but I have read something on CNN months ago that was just miswrote completely where they exaggerated the situation significantly. They need to do better.

Don't need to give out invite codes anymore.

@deck.blue @shinyakato.dev Thank you for bringing the #TweetDeck experience to BlueSky. Loving it so far!

Was hoping the Lions win against the 49ers. Chiefs destroyed the Ravens and will probably do it to the 49ers in the superbowl.

Just finished watching Echo. It has a decent storyline but the action isn’t as good as Netflix’s Daredevil. Now that I’m done, I have cancelled my Disney+. I had it since they launched in 2019 with their promotional 3 year deal. I think they failed to make it a required streaming sub like Netflix.

Can’t wait to try this. I definitely liked TweetDeck before it was acquired way back in the day.

Why do states with executions try to claim they are making them humane with things like nitrogen hypoxia? I’m against death penalty but don’t hundreds of people die from carbon monoxide poisoning every year? People don’t even realize it, unlike what happened in AL.

Watching Echo. It didn't really get good until ep3.

Was quite surprised to see that Republicans were for immigration back in the 80s, and Democrats were against it.

Just finished watching What If season 2 on #DisneyPlus. It is good, but made me realized how inconsequential this series is. I totally forgot about season 1 and had no interest in re-watching it.

I found Washington Post duplicative of NYT when I had subscription to both. Maybe they just need another angle (focus more on politics and local news?).

Too soon 🤔
