#CyberAttacks
Cyberattacks on our water systems put the basic needs of millions at risk, and we're seeing increasing concern that they have become a weapon of choice for ransomware attacks.

I'm working on legislation to improve the tools municipalities have to keep hackers out of our water supply.

Sweden's military intelligence just named Russia the #1 threat to Sweden and NATO — "serious, concrete, opportunistic and aggressive." Drone incursions, sabotage, cyberattacks. And Estonia says Russia's artillery output is up 17x since 2022.

When is say "Generative AI harms small businesses," I mean it both on the sense that they steal our shit, and they hammer us with literal cyberattacks that knock us out for average people. Overnight, I received three different texts telling me that AH was offline.

I had to fix these manually.

hey @edzitron.com now that coding agents are mainstream do you want to pivot to the new issue of "we don't really know how to stop them from driving autonomous tool use-driven OSINT audit-style stalking campaigns/cyberattacks" it's a free article I'll even give you quotes if you want

AI is making scams incredibly difficult to identify and I genuinely don't know how, for want of a better phrase, 'regular people' are going to be able to deal with this sort of thing going forward.

Especially as people still fall victim to relatively simple cyberattacks...
Pretty sure I just received and AI scam call via my Teams phone number. The voice was slightly off and the pauses slightly wrong. So that's a fun development.

I've been radicalized, alright. The countless sleepless nights as I clean up after their bots' rolling cyberattacks, the many hours of trying to defend from them stealing from us, the front-row seat to the harms they do small web-server admins.

I fucking DESPISE it with every fiber of my being.
"For much of the country, AI has come to mean ChatGPT, Google’s AI overviews, and the slop that now clogs social-media feeds. Meanwhile, tech hobbyists are becoming radicalized by bots that can work for hours on end, collapsing months of work into weeks, or weeks into an afternoon."
