80-90s Cantopop is still unbeaten
Très content d'avoir dégotté pour pas trop cher la BO en pressage original de 1983 de "Zu, les guerriers de la montagne magique". Même si ça reste beaucoup de chansons de cantopop, il se dégage de l'ensemble une vibe vraiment typique du cinéma HK de l'époque qui me rend l'écoute super agréable.

reminiscing with this morning about how the Hamtaro anime had translated versions of its opening theme song all about hamsters eating sunflower seeds sung by children's voices in tons of lgs, except the Cantonese one was done by Cantopop band Twins and so it actually slaps for no particular reason

I love the song MSR wrote for her (Missy) it's so 90s karaoke bar cantopop it rewired my brain, but Rich Girl by Hall and Oates also feels appropriate

I learned the "listen to music in languages I don't understand when writing/typing" trick back in my hardcore anime club days, but then I learned just enough Japanese to parse some of it, so I switched to Cantopop & Kpop! There are lots of playlists on Youtube when I want to try new bands/singers. ☺️

The Gallants de Tsui Hark avant Le Joueur de go. Et c’est le jour et la nuit on n’y voit rien à part qq paysages et un cavalier 😅. Mais la musique, elle, est un classique de la cantopop génération mes parents (Roman Tam!!!).
