#CIGNA
This isn't hyperbole. In 2023, I watched Cigna revoke approval for my friend Carole's life-saving lung transplant *minutes* before surgery was set to begin—a decision that very nearly killed her.

Public outrage in response to a viral post about her situation is the only reason she's alive today.

Companies like Cigna and CVS are promising simpler drug prices, but the behind-the-scenes system remains complex @davidwainer.bsky.social

This would work because if you buy health insurance through Costco it wouldn't be with United or Cigna or one of those, it would be with Super Magical Space Heathcare 9000 and they give you a unicorn
Rand Paul: "My plan is this -- let people on the Obamacare market, which is about 4% of America, a small number of people, let them buy their insurance through Costco, Sam's Club, Amazon ... "

I fell off a ladder in August. The bill for the 1.7 mile ambulance ride is $4387.31.

Our $4500 per MONTH Cigna insurance won’t pay more than $600, because the ambulance is out of network.

There are no in-network ambulances in our county, and I was unconscious when it was called.

Good news is, cigna kinda admits they shouldn't have denied my CGMs. Bad news is, I still need to see my doctor to get them covered, because they don't know I'm taking insulin, and I'm about to have to stab my fingers a lot for the next couple weeks.

I just paid a $1400 bill for a heart ultrasound for my kid (pediatrician thought it sounded weird). She was fine. Cigna is supposed to pay a total of $200 for it and we got a notice that they might not actually cover that

For some reason we pay for this insurance

Almost anything would be better

I got a call from CIGNA at work wanting me to get a 2nd physical because I have nothing better to do than let them charge for something I don’t need but they can make money. We need #MedicareForAll The amount of our time and money saved is in the billions.

“We needed to scare people. MEDICARE FOR ALL was seen as an existential threat to the insurance industry.”

Ex-insurance exec turned #M4All advocate @wendellpotter.bsky.social tells Kanew he helped Cigna & Humana lie to keep universal health care out of 🇺🇸

EX-INSURANCE COMPANY EXEC: “We’re looking to make taking campaign💰from insurance companies toxic.”

Former Cigna exec @wendellpotter.bsky.social tells Kanew the push for #MedicareForAll will focus on calling out campaign contributions - the way @trackaipac did.

who is this for?
December 13, 2025 at 3:21 PM
Yep, and anyone that works from the patient first instead of Hospital first or Cigna first, will come to that conclusion. It's always been obvious, and that the USA was the only country to do something different.

Even Nixon realized it was bad, and came to that conclusion. Everyone knowns.

I called Cigna and they did a land acknowledgement before denying my heart surgery claim.

Literally the first thought in my head. Of All the things that I deal with that are broken or fucked up, Costco is a breath of fresh air. They even sent me a shop card because I bought something and they negotiated a better price and sent me the balance out of no where. Cigna would never.

Hate for insurance companies story #1540

Today our amazing ABA therapist of two years put in his notice 💔

For months he went w/o stable pay because CIGNA was taking too long to credential him as BCBA and as an hourly RBT w/o benefits and student loans he couldn’t keep waiting

We lost the best 😭
December 11, 2025 at 5:30 AM
Insurance companies have been using AI to do this for years. Cigna was raked over the coals for it probably four years ago or so.
December 8, 2025 at 1:57 PM
The average bronze plan on healthcare.gov before credit is $700 and change a month, that's more than a car payment, rent in some places, food for a month for a small household.

A silver $24.50 premium last year jumped to $240 for next year for the same plan with cigna.

This is not ok.
December 8, 2025 at 11:54 AM
I switched insurance right around the time I found out my cancer was refractory and the only options cost as much as a new house. Instead, Obamacare meant Cigna had to spend the price of a new house on CAR T-cell therapy. No meth was cooked, no doors were knocked on.

SO SORRY - I AM ON THE PHONE *FOREVER* WITH CIGNA HEALTH CARE. 45 MIN. SO FAR. I GUESS I WILL HAVE TO LEAVE HERE AND CHECK IN HERE IN THE MORNING. IT IS 9:49 P.M. I'M YAWNING........🥱

The seven largest publicly traded U.S. health insurers—UnitedHealth, Cigna, Elevance Health, Centene, Humana, CVS Health (Aetna), and Molina—do not directly provide medical care.

They are financial intermediaries.
