#Branthwaite
Yeah, maybe at CB. Branthwaite is a good player, I watched him all 24/25 in the Eredivisie for PSV, they have some excellent players and he fitted in perfectly.

Everton's next manager post Moyes, for me, needs to be able utilise the younger players that we have; Branthwaite and O'Brien, Garner and KDH, Armstrong, Barry, Dibling, and George. Given they level of talent at 15-18 years, they also need to be be able to nurture young talent.

Everton 1-2 Bournemouth: Three talking points

https://www.eucup.com/1503037/

Everton suffered back-to-back comeback defeats to Bournemouth. Iliman Ndiaye broke the deadlock just minutes before half-time with a coolly taken penalty after Jarrad Branthwaite had been bundled over by Rayan. But …

Got to ask yourself, can we do worse than this 11

Pickford

Patterson Tarkowski Branthwaite Aznou

Garner KDH Armstrong

George Barry Ndaiye

With Gana, Rohl, Dibling, Alceraz & Beto options from the bench
February 11, 2026 at 9:08 AM
Hopefully we see Patterson at right now... Shame that it won't be with O'Brien and branthwaite in the middle though...
February 11, 2026 at 7:26 AM
Yeah I would be if I were him. Need to get O'Brien and Branthwaite at CB as soon as possible.

And more importantly, 2 capable fullbacks that the manager will actually play
February 11, 2026 at 7:18 AM
“Time and again” is generous. He’s been half decent this season but like Tarkowski he’s an accident waiting to happen. And it has happened a few times this season. O’Brien and Branthwaite are streets ahead of those two. Moyes either gives RB to Patterson or finds someone he has faith in.
February 11, 2026 at 7:18 AM
Gana is one of a number of players including Tarkowski , McNeil & Mykolenko who should have been phased out some time ago. Armstrong, Branthwaite/O’Brien , Dibling & Aznou are better options but this is Moyes so he’ll continue to kick his can down this particular dead end for some time to come.

To be fair, he brought in Branthwaite and George last night from a winning team.I’d argue before the game most were happy with that line up, without any decent full backs or strikers. The players keep failing at home, they are terrible at defending set pieces, & miss the easiest chances.
February 11, 2026 at 5:48 AM
He had a positive selection tonight with George and Branthwaite it wasn't Moyes fault we lost it was O'Brien and Barry that cost us tonight.
February 11, 2026 at 12:02 AM
He isnt at fault tonight. And he's had a good season.

But if JOB is fit, Tarkowski is fit and Branthwaite is fit he should be nowhere near the first team.

He makes the defensive unit nervy and that's a fact.

Not sure I have seen anyone pile on him though 🤷
February 11, 2026 at 12:00 AM
I know he’s been out for a long time but Branthwaite tonight was poor

Everton players that are actually and definitely good enough to be starting next year... Pickford, Branthwaite, Ndiaye, Dewsbury. That's it. 4 players from 11. That's if we're serious about progress. Plenty of the others can still contribute and stay, but 7 first team slots up for grabs IMO.
February 10, 2026 at 10:47 PM
As did Ndiaya, Gueye (both 11) and Branthwaite (9). I'm telling you it's a fix!!!
February 10, 2026 at 10:11 PM
Pickford 5
Myko 3
Branthwaite 7
Tarkowski 3
O'Brien 3
Gana 5
Garner 6
George 4
Barry 3
Ndiaye 6

Moyes 2

Ndiaye, Garner, Tarkowski and Branthwaite all end 1 defcon short of a bonus 👀 Let's see if we get any updates from Opta
February 10, 2026 at 9:29 PM
CHANCE!

Garner sends in a long free kick which finds Branthwaite but he heads it over the bar

Put Branthwaite left back please. Mykolenko is shite

Branthwaite has been awful

The Foundation: Jarrad Branthwaite (EVE) The "DefCon" anchor is back! 🧱 Branthwaite secures the assist for the opener and leads the backline with 17 BPS. With the clean sheet still intact, he’s on 7 points and looks like a "Value Logic" essential for DGW26. 🛡️🅰️ #Branthwaite

Good work from Jarrad #Branthwaite for the #Everton penalty

That’s not “winning” one it’s good aggressive positive defending high up the pitch earning rewards

Take note Senisi trying to dive & cheat like a fraud earlier in the half, without being booked for it! #UTFT #StopCheatingCherries 💙🤍

Well done Branthwaite. Looked very rusty in the early stages, which is understandable, but great pressing to get us that penalty 👏 💙

I'm shocked, SHOCKED that Branthwaite was extremely positive on the ball in a way that indirectly (& frequently directly) lifts our attack.
Who could have seen that coming?!??!!??!?

I guess he's worth the added defensive risk.
Oh, he's a better defender too?

Maybe start him every game then?
