Before Reagan's education cuts hit our schools in SF when he was Governor, we had things like photography class.

I was seven and we were learning self-portraits. I was a year ahead in English at this point so I had just learned cursive. I showed it off whenever I could.

#artadventcalendar day 6. Last year I took a twining rug making class with some friends and eventually, after many months got a complete rug out of it! Aside from some thread it's made entirely out of recycled fabric and is easily the most time consuming project I can remember working on.

Memory quilt 2 of 4. 48”x60”
Made from the same bundle of shirts as no.1.
Only request made by the group was that the quilts all be different. That’s what kept the whole project interesting. This is a fusion of more modern-ish design executed with very non-modern fabrics. 😅
48”x60” Memory quilt made of a smaller rectangle set within a larger rectangle, in pairs. Each pair is positioned in alternating orientations. Made from various prints and colours of repurposed button up shirts. Greys, beiges, navy blue, purple, red, plaids and stripes. Some pieces showcase the personalized embroidery details from some of the shirts.

I spilled a bottle of ink on my desk, and ignored it. For a very long time. Then one day I changed computers, and due to size issues I had to make this wrecked desk my main desk. I had to fix it. I made it a bird shape.
