Jacqueline couldn't believe what was happening at first. It was only after the police started arresting people that she realized the danger in her actions. She felt the tremble in her dance partner's body and forgot her own panic. She squeezed the hand just enough to signal the woman "go" before she stepped in front of her, screening any views of the retreating woman. Jacqueline hadn't even thought about it; she just acted.

When the woman paused, Jacqueline tipped her head, impatience flickering. “So do it.” The woman crossed the room and delivered a soft, tentative kiss. Jacqueline exhaled through her nose. I see I’m going to need to hand-hold this one—I’ve no patience for playing shy. She grasped the woman's neck with a passionate, firm grip and whispered, "Like this." Her movements were deliberate and precise. She pressed her mouth to the woman’s, slow and commanding, lips parting just enough for her tongue to tease. A breathless moan escaped the woman, but Jacqueline didn’t let up. She deepened the kiss, guiding with practiced confidence until the woman melted into her, dizzy and pliant. The feel of another woman’s lips on her skin never stopped feeling good. “Do you get it now?” Jacqueline murmured.

"What can I call you, then?" I asked with a grin. Everything about her was intoxicating, from her skin to her lips to her hateful gaze. "My name," she answered. "Is that Angelique Hart, the good and righteous superhero of the city? Or Angelique Boudreaux, ruthless--" "You don't know anything about my past," she snapped, cutting me off. Her cheeks had gone red, and she had turned her eyes away from me, chewing her lip. I wanted her back. I wanted to drown in those eyes, because it felt so electric to run out of air when I was looking into them. "I know enough to know that this war would be ended if I called the Gathering myself," I said softly. That made her look at me again. Her face went slightly pale and she stared me down. "You wouldn't. You'd be punished right alongside me." "They will come anyway if we keep lighting fires. That's why we need to settle this." I smiled, holding her gaze. I had all but forgotten about her foot, mostly because I couldn't stop looking at her. "Settle it, how?" she asked suspiciously. I slid my hand up from her heel to her calf, digging my fingers in slightly. But I didn't want to be rough with her. What I wanted with this enemy was to touch her so tenderly she melted in my hands. "There's only one way we're going to work this out, isn't there?" My voice was low, trying to make sure she knew that I meant no harm. "I'm not having sex with you," she breathed, though she didn't sound even half-convinced. "That's not what I was going to say..." I told her honestly.

Right now the Venn diagram is *almost* 2 circles, but that's because of the aforementioned newness. I suspect circles will converge a little bit as time goes on. But I don't write exactly what I read, so not just a circle.

I prefer to write it. Honestly reading it doesn't do much for me as I get more focused on the writers style than the sex it's trying to portray. It's part of the story and not enticing.
