Alas, alas. This is true.

There's a part of my brain that still can't comprehend why anyone wanted another round of this.

But then I think about #racism, #oligarchy, and sloppy #epistemology; at that point, it's clear why it was even possible.

i go through a whole thing on skepticism and we read Hume and Moore and Zagzebski just so my students will stop saying "oh but can we really know anything" and they Still. Do. It.

TL;DR: Epistemic reputation is second-order evidence and plays a crucial role in epistemic communities. Although imperfect and subject to misuse, these problems are conceivable only due to general reliability and trust.

Teaching today about Jessica Hernandez’s book Fresh Banana Leaves, and I said: science is the organization of information. It is not natural or pre-ordained, but the way a particular culture organizes how it experiences the world. And I’m not mad at that definition.

Thousands of people in a dozen countries thought reflective reasoning was usually the best way to make a decision in ordinary dilemmas.

Runners up were intuition, friends' advice, and the wisdom of a crowd (in that order).
