I'm not sure why there would be another shutdown at end of January. Some Dems have learned they are unlikely to get anything out of it & others have learned that their members will cave in the end (which means the same outcome).

The vote was 60-40, with seven Democrats and one independent joining all Republicans to approve a compromise deal that would fund most federal agencies through January. The agreement, which now goes to the House of Representatives, does not directly address the expiring tax credits for healthcare premiums, the issue at the center of the 40-day stalemate between Democrats and Republicans, though Senate Majority Leader John Thune has promised a Senate vote later this year on the subsidies.

The shutdown, and the our attempts to secure an extension of ACA health care subsidies, demonstrated for all to see: Republicans are so violently opposed to allowing millions to keep their health care they were willing to fight all the way to the Supreme Court to deny food to those in need.
